EDI / B2B Strategy - EDI or API

Supply chain management solutions rely on both EDI and APIs.  EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)  has been seen as the business standard for B2B (Business to Business) transactions however, the use of APIs (Application Program Interface) has become more prevalent, especially for real-time data transfers. Businesses aren’t forced to choose between using modern APIs over traditional EDI, as there are uses for both methodologies in a B2B Integration. As businesses innovate and digitally transform, they must adopt and implement a strategy for B2B integrations by embracing real-time transactions via APIs to augment their batch transactions via EDI.  This integration will enable organizations to begin to embrace the use of IoT devices within B2B transactions.  These innovations will accelerate the sharing of critical business information within the supply chain and improve just in time processes.
